Jenie and her family have lived in Portishead for 27 years, originally on Brampton Way and now on Nore Road.

Her career involved working with children in the public and voluntary sectors (London and North Somerset), in both front-line and senior management. It includes Secondary School teaching, Youth & Play work, Early Years Education, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and Child Protection. She has worked in a voluntary capacity with a wide range of organisations, including as a Director with the local Credit Union, Somerset Savings and Loans, and is currently Chair of Trustees for Springboard Opportunity Group, a local charity for Under 5's with Additional Needs and Disabilities and their families.

Retired from paid work she is passionate about maintaining a vibrant, friendly, prosperous, kind and inclusive community in Portishead. She is a keen gardener who knows how lucky she is to have Kilkenny Fields and the coast on her doorstep.
