Trusted Town Clerk Resigns
News - 28 September 2018
Portishead Town Council has received the resignation of its trusted town clerk six years after she accepted the post.
Jo Duffy, whose previous position was clerk to Congresbury Parish Council, has seen the town council through some difficult times including severe budget cuts at North Somerset Council which have impacted on the town.
A statement released by Portishead Town Council said: “Mrs Duffy has worked for Portishead Town Council since September 2012 and her hard work and enthusiasm will be missed by her staff and council members. She will continue to work in Portishead while serving her notice and will take up the role of Nailsea town clerk in early December. Portishead Town Council would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her service to the council and the town, and to wish her every success for the future.”
Mrs Duffy said: "An opportunity has arisen for me to work for Nailsea Town Council and I have decided to accept the job. I am very excited about the prospect of working and assisting them with their plans for the future enhancement of the town. I will be sad to leave my staff and councillors here at Portishead and wish them all the best for the future."
