STATEMENT FROM TOWN COUNCIL - TOWN CLERK VACANCY
News - 14 August 2019
Portishead Town Council is a modern, forward looking and community focused council and is currently seeking a like minded individual to join its staff as the town clerk at its offices in the Folk Hall ,Portishead, following the departure of its previous clerk Andrea Durn, who joined the council in November 2018.
Town council chairman, Paul Gardner, issued a statement this morning on behalf of the council which said: “Andrea Durn, clerk to Portishead Town Council, has decided, with immediate effect, to pursue new opportunities nearer to home.
“Portishead Town Council has put interim arrangements in place to ensure that service levels are maintained for its residents. It is also conducting a full staffing review as part of its modernising agenda and will be making further announcements in due course.”
As this is a staffing matter, Portishead Town Council says it will be making no other comment other than to wish Andrea every success for the future.
Paul added: “We are very pleased to report that existing office staff have agreed to take on extra duties on an interim basis in order to transact the council’s business. Town councillors are also providing additional administrative assistance at no cost to residents".
