Highways England: Resurfacing M5 northbound junction 20 – junction 19
Highways England will be carrying out essential resurfacing on the M5 northbound, between junctions 20 and 19. Work will start on Monday 9 October 2017.
The resurfacing work will take approximately 8 weeks to complete.
To ensure the safety of our workforce and road users while the work is ongoing, it will be necessary to put a traffic management system in place. The majority of the work will be completed under lane closures.
However, a number of night-time closures (between 8pm and 6am) will be required to complete the work. Whilst these closures are in force, fully signed diversion routes will be in place. The dates of these closures and diversion route details are as follows:
Total Closure of the M5 Northbound between Junction 20 and Junction 19; 12/10/2017, 26/10/2017, 27/10/2017, 06/11/2017, 07/11/2017, 10/11/2017 and 13/11/2017
Light Vehicle Route Traffic shall be diverted from the M5 at Junction 20 and follow the B3130, B3128 and A4 to re-join the M5 at junction 18.
Heavy Vehicle Route Traffic shall be diverted from the M5 at junction 21 and follow the A370, A4 to re-join the M5 at junction 18.
Total closure of the northbound entry slip road M5 Junction 20; 09/10/2017, 10/10/2017, 13/10/2017, 16/10/2017 and 27/11/2017 Traffic to travel South to M5 J21, to U-turn at J21, to travel North on the M5.
Total closure of the M5 northbound, between the exit slip road and the entry slip road at Junction 20; 30/10/2017, 31/10/2017, 01/11/2017, 08/11/2017 and 22/11/2017.
Traffic to exit M5 via J20 exit and re-join M5 via J20 entry. Please note that whilst we always aim to work to the programme, unforeseen circumstances may mean slight changes to it.
