The candidates for both the Parish and District Councillor seats for Portishead East have been announced.

Parish Councillor: Portishead East

A poll for the election of Parish Councillor for Portishead East will be held on Thursday 6th May 2021 between 7:00am and 10:00pm.

One Parish Councillor is to be elected.

This poll is taken together with the election of a District Councillor and the election of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The names and descriptions of the Candidates are below:

  • Sophie Ann Davies – Labour Party
  • Tina Luisa Elisabeth Mason – Portishead Independents
  • Debbie Webb – Conservative Party
  • Paul Anthony Welton – Liberal Democrats

District Councillor: Portishead East

A poll for the election of District Councillor for Portishead East will be held on Thursday 6th May 2021, between 7:00am and 10:00pm.

One District Councillor is to be elected.

This poll is taken together with the election of a Parish Councillor and the election of the Police and Crime Commissoner.

The names and descriptions of the Candidates are below:

  • Sophie Ann Davies – Labour Party
  • Caroline Davinia Goddard – Portishead Independents
  • David Harry Collingwood Onys – Conservative Party
  • Paul Anthony Welton – Liberal Democrats

Registering to vote

Make sure you’re registered to vote so you can have your say in the upcoming local by-elections and PCC election.

Apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote - it’ll take just five minutes and the deadline to register is midnight on Monday 19 April.

Once you’re registered to vote, you’ll be able to cast your vote however suits you:

  • In person – polling stations will have all the safety precautions in place in line with the latest Covid guidance
  • By post – the deadline to apply for this is 5pm on Tuesday 20th April
  • By proxy – appointing someone you trust to vote in your place – the deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 27th April
