A wide range of community groups in Portishead ensure that a constant flow of activities and events take place throughout the year in the town, with something to appeal to everyone. These range from open gardens weekends and the annual carnival to flower shows, a raft race and spectacular festive illuminations.

Our calendar brings you up-to-date news of these activities and events, along with details of Council meetings and other items of public interest. Just click on the relevant date on the calendar (to the right), for more information and the agenda (usually available 3 days before the meeting). 

All Portishead Town Council meetings are held on a Wednesday unless otherwise stated:

National Grid Hinkley Connection Project update - surveys between Nailsea and Portishead substation

Starting on 15th April 2019 to June 2019, surveys will be carried out along the route of the underground cable. The attached letter has been issued.

Funding secured for Portishead Rail

News - 9 April 2019

A nationally significant scheme to improve transport in the region has received over £31m funding from the Department for Transport. The funding announcement for MetroWest Phase 1, which includes the reopening of the Portishead to Bristol rail line, was made by Chris Grayling, the Secretary of State for Transport at a visit to Portishead.
