A wide range of community groups in Portishead ensure that a constant flow of activities and events take place throughout the year in the town, with something to appeal to everyone. These range from open gardens weekends and the annual carnival to flower shows, a raft race and spectacular festive illuminations.

Public Members'Briefing from National Grid Hinkley Connection Project

A public members briefing from the National Grid Hinkley Connection Project Team on the survey work and installation construction programme of the 132,000 volt underground cable between Nailsea and Portishead sub-station. Public and Press are welcome. The briefing starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 7.15pm. Venue: The Folk Hall, 95 High Street, Portishead, BS20 6PR.

Great British Beach Clean - Easter Monday 22nd April 2019

Past Event - 22 April 2019

Easter Monday 22nd April 2019 is World Earth Day and to celebrate Turn the Tide are hosting a beach clean at Woodhill Bay, Portishead. Meet outside the Cafe Lido at 1.30pm where there will be both a beach clean and a Lake Grounds clean. The sun will be shining and it should be fun. All are welcome including children and pets.

Portishead Easter Trail - ends April 22nd 2019

Past Event - 16 April 2019

An egg-citing Easter trail is running in Portishead High Street throughout the school Easter holidays. Coloured paper eggs will be hidden in shop windows along the High Street and the surrounding areas and participants are asked to make a note of where they find the eggs on an entry form, that can be collected from SoleLution at 62 High Street. It costs £1 per person to enter and the entry fees will all go towards helping underprivileged school children in Kenya through the Educate the Kids charity.

Funding secured for Portishead Rail

News - 9 April 2019

A nationally significant scheme to improve transport in the region has received over £31m funding from the Department for Transport. The funding announcement for MetroWest Phase 1, which includes the reopening of the Portishead to Bristol rail line, was made by Chris Grayling, the Secretary of State for Transport at a visit to Portishead.
